About LMC

LM Capital Group, LLC is a registered investment advisor founded in 1989 to provide fixed-income investment management to the institutional investor. LM Capital utilizes a long-term macroeconomic, fundamental investment approach to assemble concentrated fixed-income portfolios representing the most-attractive fixed-income investment opportunities available. The firm is a 65% employee-owned minority business, employed by public agencies, corporations and foundations nationwide. Currently, LM Capital manages four types of fixed-income investment strategies: Opportunistic Core (Core Plus), Core, Intermediate and Short term, and is in the process of launching the LM Capital Enhanced Commodity Index strategy.

Firm Ownership

On April 1, 2002, LM Capital Management Inc. entered into an agreement to create a new entity, LM Capital Group, LLC. LM Capital Management Inc. transferred its SEC registration to the new entity. The management of the new firm, the investment process, and all other aspects of the company except for ownership interests as outlined below remained identical. The new entity was created to accommodate a new, passive equity investor that provides growth capital and business expertise.

LM Capital Management Inc. became a holding company with a 65% interest in LM Capital Group, LLC. Luis Maizel, John Chalker, Mario Modiano and Tobias Gorodzinsky continue to own 100% of LM Capital Management, which remains a minority-owned firm. Strategic Investment Group Ventures, LLC (SIGV), owns the remaining 35% interest; SIGV is a joint venture between Strategic Investment Group and the State of California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).
